Dance enthusiasts are being asked to sharpen their dancing skills as international ballroom and Latin show dance couple Lila Flores and Leonardo Cuestas, the pride and joy of Argentina, are scheduled to conduct two dance workshops for interested students and dance tutors and instructors respectively, on May 25, at Edinburgh Dance Studio, at 34 Eastern Main Road, Petit Bourg.
A dance workshop (Cha Cha Cha, Rhumba and Jive) for students beginners and intermediate, will be held on May 25 from 2 pm – 5 pm. On May 26, a dance workshop (Cha Cha Cha, Rhumba and Jive) for tutors and students preparing for competition, will be held from 10 am to 1 pm. Limited spaces are available and registration is on a first-come first-serve basis. There’s a cover charge of $200 and $250, respectively. Flores and Cuestas have travelled regularly to many parts of the world successfully competing at the highest level. Some of these countries include Spain,, Ecuador, Slovenia, Belgium, Germany and Peru. Both Flores and Cuestas are bilingual and are the directors of International School of Dance Sport. Over the years they continue to teach scores of dance enthusiasts at Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Flores and Cuestas are founding members of the Argentina Dance Sport Association of Teachers and Folk Dances and Ballroom which is endorsed and recognised by the World Dance Sport Federation, (WDSF) former IDSF; the only federation recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). During their week-long stay, courtesy Argentinian Embassy, Copa Airlines and Hyatt Regency Hotel, they are expected to perform demonstrations at two children’s concerts on May 22, at Jean Pierre Indoor Complex, Port-of-Spain, at 10 am and also on Friday, May 24, at Signal Hill Secondary School, Tobago at 9.30 am.
