As a continuation of its cultural exchange initiatives, the Embassy of Colombia in T&T in collaboration with the Department of Creative Arts at UWI St Augustine will present Los Sensacionales de Codazzi and Uwisteel in concert.
The free performance takes place at The UWI’s Learning Resource Centre tonight from 7 pm.
Los Sensacionales de Codazzi is just one of the many bands that rehearse at the Casa de la Cultura, an arts academy sponsored by the Mayor’s office of Agustin Codazzi.
A press release said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, through its Office of Cultural Affairs and its Embassies, has been working to improve living conditions of children who inhabit some challenging zones, working since 2011 in the development of sports exchanges abroad and, since 2013, with musical exchanges.
By promoting sport and local arts abroad, the Ministry pursues the protection of these children and, as a consequence, develop Colombian cultural diversity internationally and closer fellowship bonds with other countries and civil society. This concert and partnership with the DCFA, therefore, is expected to be one of several initiatives over the coming year. All are invited to witness this musical and cultural infusion.
