Talented songstress Marie Carter joined H2O Phlo at Queen’s Hall for last year’s edition of This Christmas… A Christmas Story.

This Christmas H2O Phlo will again transform Queen’s Hall into a Christmas spectacular when the group puts on another stellar production of This Christmas… A Christmas Story.

Following on the heels of the acclaimed Michael Jackson Tribute, the 2012 Christmas concert was hailed as one of the best shows produced that year. This year’s instalment on November 30 and December 1, promises to be even bigger and better.

A Broadway-styled production in all respects, from set design to lighting effects and costuming, H2O Phlo’s musical and theatrical portrayal of the Christmas Story will reflect on the aspects of Christmas that truly make it the best time of the year.

“This production is more than just a show, it is a Christmas cabaret, a Broadway-styled expression of the true meaning of Christmas” said Richard Ahong, the group’s musical director. Depicting elements such as The Birth, A Child is Born in Trinidad, Winter Abroad, Love and Trini Christmas, the group will perform some of the greatest Christmas music the world has known to date the way they do best.

This cabaret, which is guaranteed to keep audiences riveted throughout, will showcase some of T&T’s best musical talent.

The headline act, H2O Phlo (Junior Nelson, Jason “Fridge” Seecharan and Keston Rosales), will be accompanied musically by the 2G band (Richard “Char su” Ahong, Gabriel Bernard, Curtis “Bling” Bethelmy, Kerdice Devenish and Kevin Stephen). Also sharing the stage with them on both nights will be featured artistes Laureston Special, Neisha “Jus’tis” Guy, Rembunction, Myron B, Raymond Edwards and CAL Invaders.

“Christmas is without a doubt the ‘best time of the year’ for H2O Phlo,” Rosales said. The group’s recently released single of the same name is a testimony of this. As such members are firm in the belief that it is a time for selflessness and an opportunity to give back to the community that has supported by them over the past 21 years.

This year, H2O Phlo has pledged to join the T&T Cancer Society in the fight against cancer, a partnership that was announced following the recent annual Walk 4 Hope hosted by the society. In a release the trio said, “We the members of H2O Phlo are both very happy and proud to have been able to sign the petition to help end cervical cancer in the Caribbean.” They have also pledged to donate part proceeds from ticket sales for the Christmas concerts to the society.

As the group anxiously approaches its busiest time of year, with the demand for appearances at Christmas functions, it is also moving ahead with the promotion of its concerts. With three brand new singles—Best Time of the Year, Christmas Time Again and Love for Christmas—H2O Phlo visited radio stations to spread the word and engage fans.

“The response to the new music has been phenomenal and has heightened the public’s anticipation of the Christmas concerts,” said Seecharan, who added that fans could also look forward to more radio appearances and ticket giveaways in the coming weeks.

“It’s a show that is guaranteed to be a hit for the entire family, so bring out the grandparents and grandchildren,” Rosales said, adding that Queen’s Hall would be transformed into a Christmas Wonderland for an experience that audiences would never forget. It is certainly an event not to be missed, and one that is guaranteed to get all in attendance into the true spirit of Christmas.

Tickets for the ‘This Christmas… A Christmas Story’ are currently on sale at Queen’s Hall Box Office; T&T Cancer Society; Crosby’s, St James; Cleve’s, Frederick Street; KAM’s, Long Circular Mall; Richard’s, West Mall; First Priority, Gulf City, La Romaine and, Castro’s, Arima.
