For those who missed the premiere performance of The King and I, a second run of the well-received show is scheduled for the southland at the Naparima Bowl, San Fernando. The second run began on Thursday and continues through Saturday.
Sunday’s performance put on at the National Academy of Performing Arts featured the cast of Conrad Parris, Tova Miller, Rais Clarke-Mendes, Jonathan Blaize, Charles Michael Reid and Patti-Anne Ali who will be returning for the south performance.
A review of the show by Shannon Ashleigh Navarro of the Catholic News said “the challenge for any actor in musical theatre is that the performer is required to do more than simply acting.
“The task requires vocal ability, engagement and commitment to character, which was executed with varying degrees of success in the First Instinct Production’s King and I.”
The show at Naparima Bowl, San Fernando starts today at 5pm. Tickets cost $225 with specials available for senior citizens at $100 for all shows (excluding the Gala Night). Group packages—when buying three or more tickets together—adults pay $175, children (under 16) cost $75 and are available from the Maritime Financial Group Service Centers Nationwide.
